USS ANZIO (CG 68), Gulf of Aden – On Wednesday 26th of August the commander of the European Union Naval Force Somalia, Commodore Pieter Bindt RNLN (CTF 465) met with Rear Admiral.

To increase the knowledge about the European Union Naval Force and the aims of operation Atalanta, a liaison officer from the Djiboutian Navy was invited to participate in a patrol onboard the EU NAVFOR Swedish warship HMS TROSSOE.

On Sunday 2 Aug 09, the EU NAVFOR  Dutch ship HNLMS EVERTSEN under the Command of Commander Cees Vooijs sailed from Den Helder to join the EU Naval Force operating off the Somali coast in its Anti Piracy mission.

Saturday, 1 August, the Norwegian frigate HNoMS FRIDTJOF NANSEN sails from Norway to take part in EU NAVFOR Operation Atalanta.
