Yesterday morning, whilst sailing along the northern coast of Somalia, the Spanish frigate ESPS Numancia, deployed with the EU Naval Force (EU NAVFOR) Somalia Operation Atalanta, performed a friendly approach on a Yemeni dhow to help promote understanding about EU NAV

ESPS Numancia joined the EU Naval Force (EU NAVFOR) Somalia Operation Atalanta on Saturday 6 April.  The Spanish frigate belongs to the 41st Escort Squadron and this is the second time that she has deployed as part of Atalanta.

Whilst departing from the port of Salalah, Oman, after a brief logistic stop, the EU’s counter-piracy flagship, ESPS Méndez Núñez enjoyed a brief rendezvous with fellow EU Naval Force warship HNLMS De Ruyter, who was about to enter the Omani port.
