During her port visit to the Seychelles, ESPS Relampago’s crew took the opportunity to carry out a range of maritime training exercises with the Seychelles Coastguard and Air Force at Port Victoria anchorage.
The training began with theory lessons on RADAR and Air Navigational Aids, followed by practical training on board. After training, a tour showing the ship’s capabilities was conducted and discussions took place regarding maritime security in the area. The aim of the visit was to further enhance the relationship between EU NAVFOR and the Seychelles to better understand future training and partnership requirements.
ESPS Relampago has now returned to counter-piracy patrols in the Indian Ocean. The Seychelles has been a long standing partner with EU NAVFOR working together on maritime security.
